Cultural responsability

Educating committed citizens willing to make the world a better place to live in: this goal lies at the heart of the investments made by Brennand Energia in cultural initiatives. We provide programs for children and teenagers in partnership with the Ricardo Brennand Institute.

Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, the Institute is a cultural complex housing a museum, art gallery and library. It was opened in 2002, with the aim of providing the population with new ways of having contact with and learning about art. The Institute seeks to preserve art and culture with an emphasis on the “Dutch Brazil” period, having the country’s largest private Frans Post collection. The Institute has won nationwide recognition as a leading cultural center in Northeast Brazil, receiving about 217,000 visitors a year and hosting cultural events featuring regional, national and international artists.
